Habitat: Deciduous woodlands

Taste: Mild Garlicky

Flowers: April-August

Culinary uses: Cooked chopped leaves for flavour additive and sauces.

Other info: Imparts strong odour and taste to milk if ingested by cows. 

Proverb: "Eate leekes in Lide, and ramsins in May, And all the yeare after physitians may play".
